Hydrogen peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide, or oxidants, are used when dyeing hair. Hydrogen peroxide is a colour developer that ensures the hair gets the optimal effect. Thus, the hair often gets a fuller colour and extra shine when using oxidants. Hair oxidants are available in different volumes. That is, hair hydrogen peroxide concentrations are different. The higher the hydrogen peroxide concentration, the better the colour comes out and stays. So, oxidants come in different shapes and sizes.

How should I use hydrogen?

Hydrogen peroxide should only be used when colouring the hair. So make sure it is not used when the hair is not being coloured. The idea is to add a small amount of the oxidant to the hair colouring. The two should be mixed well so that together it forms a liquid mass. After this, the liquid mass should be applied to the hair as prescribed on the hair colouring package. Be sure to leave it on for a while to get the best effect. Then rinse the hair well until all the dye and oxidants are gone from the hair. Then wash the hair with a good shampoo, such as one for coloured hair. Next, apply conditioner to nourish the hair and then rinse this out as well. After this, the hair can be shaped.

What percentage of hydrogen peroxide should you use

How much per cent hydrogen peroxide you need depends on how light you want your hair to be. The higher the per cent hydrogen, the lighter your hair will become. You can use 3% hydrogen peroxide if you want to go one shade lighter. To go 2 or 3 shades lighter, you should definitely use 6% hydrogen peroxide.
